The Role
Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning , the purpose of the Finance Planning and Analysis Manager (Europe) role is to own the production, understanding, and delivery of all deliverables of the Financial Planning and Analysis function of the European business. The role has direct line management of one resource shared with Divisional FP&A. The role includes the following:

  • Production, delivery, understanding, and presentation of Europe annual financial plan;
  • Production, delivery, understanding, and presentation of Europe Management Information (Financial and Non-Financial);
  • Ownership of plan vs actual analysis of result and financial position;
  • Expense budgeting process;
  • Cost control for the European business;
  • Result forecasting, result control and timely reporting in to Division;
  • Production of Investment MI, and Investment Committee support materials;
  • Back up support on Divisional FP&A activities;
  • Various ad hoc requests including non-standard requests.

Who They Are Looking For
To be considered for this role you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong analytical and an appropriate level of technical skills;
  • Minimum 2 years working in the Finance department of, or in the audit of financial services preferably companies Life Insurance/Reinsurance sector;
  • Practical experience of an accounting software package, e.g. PeopleSoft;
  • Strong Excel skills and practical experience of Hyperion/Essbase or similar package;
  • Self-starter with a desire to develop technical knowledge and skills, and to develop the role;
  • Motivated to take ownership of own work and to seek further responsibility;
