The Company
Our client is a well-known globally branded investment group who have an excellent reputation for innovative products, fund and money management across a broad range of asset classes offering their services to institutional, retail and high net-worth clients. They manage over £80 billion across different within their international network of offices. They now have a new management accounting role which exists within their Group Finance Function for a qualified accountant, (ideally but not necessarily with previous Investment / Asset Management experience) with at least 2 years management accounting experience at some form of group or whole company level enabling them to get a whole view of an organisation. The role will include preparation of internal Group reports for senior management and support finance colleagues with externally published Group information. In this role you would also business partner certain Group functions.

The Role
Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, your role will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Produce the Group's monthly Management Performance Report
  • Produce the Group's monthly P&L Flash report
  • Supporting the External Reporting team with the preparation and verification of relevant sections of the Annual and Interim Report and Accounts, and Audit Committee papers
  • Preparing and presenting monthly expense reports for selected Corporate functions, including commentary on variances versus budget and prior periods
  • Preparation of budgets and forecasts for selected Corporate functions
  • Coordinate and review Group transfer pricing for budgets and forecasts
  • Coordinate and control the Group headcount reporting process, working closely with the Human Resources department
  • Preparation of budget and forecast consolidation adjustments
  • Develop a strong working relationship with Corporate Business heads to ensure they place appropriate focus on financial issues and advise them on achieving financial results
  • Support the Investor Relations team with the preparation and verification of relevant sections of Analyst presentations and related supporting documentation
  • Assistance with the development and provision of all management information, including ad-hoc requests and projects

Who they are looking for
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified accountant with previous management accounting experience in a group role; and
  • Experience of preparation of budgets and forecasts, as well as understanding of management performance reports at Group level and
  • Advanced Excel, intermediate PowerPoint and Word and
  • Strong oral and written communications skills. Confident and able to show conviction on your opinions and suggestions

  • Excellent analytical ability with a good attention to detail and self-starter with proven problem solving capabilities
  • Investment Management experience preferable but not a pre-requisite at all
