The Company
Part of a growing insurance group, they are a young and dynamic Lloyds insurance and reinsurance broker, driven by an energetic experienced team who provide tailored solutions for their global clients.

The Role
This is a new role within the company and is a standalone role. You will need to be able to demonstrate your ability to work dependently on specific tasks supporting and providing information to an efficient and highly motivated team. You will work with the Technical Manager on a day to day basis, liaising with a Group Financial Director who will initially oversee this area. The role consists of a number of daily IBA and non IBA tasks and monthly tasks which include the following:

Daily tasks IBA:

  • Maintain IBA receipts and payments Excel cash books
  • Notify technicians of cash receipts
  • Allocate cash on IT system
  • Advise on correct accounting entries
  • Check payment requisition forms
  • Perform credit control function
  • Monitor unallocated cash/funding

Daily tasks - Non IBA:

  • Maintain Non-IBA receipts and payments Excel cash books
  • Reconcile Barclaycard statement and check receipts
  • Process personal expense forms
  • Maintain petty cash - GBP and non-GBP
  • Access to Barclays banking system (.NET)
  • Input transactions onto .NET for approval

Monthly tasks:

  • Run month end reports
  • Preparation of Insurance and Office bank reconciliations for approval
  • Maintain a Fixed Asset Register

Other tasks:

  • Other Ad hoc tasks requested by Management Team
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT Return (might be desirable for use in the future but not required initially

Who they are looking for
In order to be selected for intervgiew, you will need to be a self-starter as this is a newly created role within this company. You must also meet the following criteria:

  • Experience of accounting within an insurance broking environment
  • Previous insurance experience including daily IBA accounting tasks including receipts and payments
  • Experience of month end reports, fixed asset register, insurance and bank reconciliations
  • Experience of non-IBA receipts and payments.
  • Hands on accounting skills and strong double entry accounting skills
