The Role
Your primary responsibilities will revolve around financial planning, budgeting, and oversight of capital projects and treasury management within the Council. You will be a key figure in providing financial guidance, counsel, training, and scrutiny across the organization. This includes routine budget monitoring, evaluation of service and project proposals, and ad-hoc support, all while ensuring strict adherence to financial regulations and professional standards. Collaborating with your team, you will contribute to the enhancement and refinement of the Council's financial services.

Furthermore, you will assume control of the Authority's Fixed Asset Register, overseeing entries and sections integral to the Statement of Accounts. Your leadership will extend to the implementation of an Asset Register system on the Council's new financial management platform.

In addition, you will take the lead in Treasury Management functions, encompassing the development of Treasury Management and Investment Strategies, supervision of banking procedures, and management of the investment portfolio to ensure efficient cashflow and fund investments in alignment with treasury management strategy.
