Role: Associate Director - 6 month FTC

THE COMPANY
This is a newly created role within a highly successful global Real Estate Investment company are seeking an Associate Director to join them in their office in Jersey. The company are going through an exciting period of change and are looking for a individual to come in and help drive their Jersey business. The group have in excess of over £100bn of assets and will offer great career growth prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- To maintain and develop strong, lasting relationships with the clients.
- Primary contact for clients with daily contact and regular in-person client meetings.
- Take ownership of the portfolio of clients and customer relationships; implement policies, procedures and checklists.
- Review profitability of the portfolio of clients and manage team resources to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
- Final review layer for complex matters such as consolidations, bank debt covenant reporting, investor tax, CIS and VAT reporting.
- Plan year-end audit including audit files and liaise with external auditors and clients, perform an annual review of the audit process and ensure changes are communicated to managers and hold a relationship wit the key audit partners;
- Oversight of preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS or UK GAAP.
- Organising take-on and set-up of new clients.
- Work effectively with other members of the Senior Management Team to ensure smooth transition of work sourced by them into the business.In conjunction with the Senior Management Team, prepare proposals and quotes for new accounting work.
- Look for new ways to increase the companies Jersey profile.
- Ensuring all regulatory and statutory reporting deadlines and filings are achieved.Drafting of procedures and other internal documents.
People Management:
- Support Managers with matters that have been escalated from the team.
- Provide advice and guidance to employees across the business acting as a mentor and role model.
- Manage performance of direct reports through the Performance Management process, including Performance Review meetings and objective setting.
- Understand the career aspirations of your reports and encourage their growth by developing the skills and experience they require.
- Effectively delegate tasks to your team via the Manager giving clear instructions and support their understanding.
- Manage team resource and maximise effectiveness / output of the team whilst maintaining high standards.
- Help build out the team within the Jersey office.
Skills Required:
- Strong technical accounting skills, ideally gained within real estate funds or an asset management environment.
- A full understanding of UK GAAP and IFRS and other relevant accounting standards, and related preparation of statutory financial statements and auditor liaison.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures manuals and performance measurement reports at asset and fund level.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations for which there may be little precedence.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confident and proactive approach and professional attitude to work.
- Highly organised with good time management and planning skills.
- Strong staff development skills and the ability to succession plan
- A deep understanding of the agreements associated with private equity and real estate structures and interpretation of terms within including LPA, debt documentation, sale and purchase agreements, leases etc.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peers, senior management and especially clients.
