We are pleased to be partnering with a fast growing international payment company. They have in the last few years grown significantly and have further strong growth plans for the future. They are now seeking a CFO who will be a key member of the senior management team and will play an important role in taking the company to its next level of growth. The CFO will be responsible for both the operational and strategic aspects of the company finances. The culture of the company is highly collaborative and collegiate. Management style is open and non-bureaucratic. You will have the ability to work within a multitasking, fast-paced, high-growth and demanding environment which requires a hands on approach within the finance department.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Highly motivated Qualified Accountant with financial services industry experience essential;
  • A finance leader (such as an FD, CFO or senior FC) who has operated at a senior level and previously managed staff is essential;
  • Experience in a high volume low margin business, as well experience of both operational and strategic aspects of the company's finances;
  • Extensive knowledge of financial control and accounting, planning, analysis and reporting;
  • Ability to develop and maintain robust balance sheet reconciliation and month end close processes to drive timely and accurate financial and management reporting;
  • Ability to form effective working relationships both internally and externally;
  • Ability to foster business opportunities and partnerships;
  • Ability to work within a multitasking, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, high-growth and demanding environment;
  • The ability to deliver an understanding of complex financial matters to non-finance people;
  • Excellent organisational skills - prioritisation, resource management and project management;
  • Results driven - accountable with the ability to balance strategic thinking with attention to detail and operational end to end delivery;

THE ROLE
The key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

Strategy

  • Work with the CEO on the strategic plan and long term financial planning for the organisation whilst identifying opportunities and risks to the plan
  • Develop the financial strategy in line with business need
  • Participate in company-wide strategic reviews

Planning and Delivery

  • Responsibility for financial planning for new business opportunities
  • Design and facilitate the annual planning and ongoing forecasting process, setting process to establish annual goals for revenue (new and existing clients), regularly review performance against original business cases and giving challenge back to the business
  • Responsibility for the annual budget and forecasting process for the company
  • Financial planning and analysis with commercial decision support for the business

Financial Control

  • Ensure all financial activity is managed effectively and with integrity
  • Establish and maintain effective balance sheet reconciliation and month end close processes to provide timely and accurate reporting to
  • Provide robust financial management information and financial analysis to the senior management team including monthly management accounts
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the monthly and annual reporting process
  • Oversee and develop finance IT systems

Risk

  • Maintain and develop appropriate financial and risk management systems, processes and controls, ensuring excellent financial management and compliance with regulatory, banking and accounting requirements
  • Manage credit and FX exposure
  • Educate the business to the risk framework and help to minimise the Groups' exposure to unnecessary risk whilst creating a commercially pragmatic 'risk' culture across the business

General

  • Oversee the treasury function of the organisation
  • Oversee efficient and effective operation of the finance team including developing, coaching and training
  • Ensure the business has all the licencing requirements it needs to support its current and future plans
  • Develop a data infrastructure program in order to support the organisation's future ambitions to be a data enabled organisation, business partnering to aid the business utilise data in a way to accelerate growth and manage risk
  • Any other duties, as and when required, which are commensurate with the role
