Skills and Experience Required

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A qualified accountant certification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, etc.), ideally with training from an accounting firm.
  • A strong academic background.
  • 2 - 10 years of post-qualification experience in financial management, consolidation, and reporting gained within an alternative investment management, real estate investment or private equity background.
  • Proven experience in financial consolidation and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with operational accounting and the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAGE).
  • Understanding of FCA regulatory reporting (desirable, but not essential).
  • Strong analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

The Role

  • Lead Financial Consolidation: Oversee the financial consolidation process across multiple entities and structures, ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Management Accounts: Prepare comprehensive management accounts (monthly, quarterly, and annual), including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Statutory Compliance: Lead the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance financial frameworks and processes, aligning them with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Monitor budgets, conduct forecasting, and perform insightful variance analysis to support decision-making.
  • System Implementation: Play a key role in implementing accounting systems, automating the consolidation process, and optimising financial operations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, providing financial insights to support business initiatives.
  • Audit Coordination: Manage audits, addressing findings and maintaining high compliance standards.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Potential involvement in FP&A activities for the company.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Lead and execute various financial projects, including data analysis, report generation, and process redesign.

If you have the drive, expertise, and vision to make a lasting impact, this role offers the perfect platform to do so.
