They are a highly successful, fast growing bank who provide specialised lending to businesses and individuals. Their business offering includes asset finance, bridging finance, commercial property finance, development finance and specialised business loans.

Reporting to the financial controller, you will be responsible for managing a small team, management reporting, statutory reporting, efficiency and automation. In this role you must be able to manage and develop a team of trainee accountants. The finance function works to tight deadlines and you will have competing priorities to manage. As you progress in terms of experience and exposure, you will also be able to take on greater responsibility with the growth of the business. You must be also be able to deal with business units effectively and with confidence. As per normal in this type of role, you will be looking to improve the efficiency of the Finance function through automation if possible. Your key responsibilities and accountabilities include the following:

  • Management of a team of 2 trainee accountants
  • Month end accounting and production of monthly reporting pack and commentary
  • Monitoring of business KPIs
  • Management of the production of financial reconciliations
  • Management of the external audit process
  • Production of Annual Reports and Pillar 3 report
  • Management of the annual budgeting and scenario analysis process
  • Liaise with divisional management and business analysts
  • Assist with Board Reporting
  • Management of the Quarterly Corporation Tax payments, and Annual Tax return
  • Management of quarterly VAT reporting
  • Assist in maintaining data integrity, the data warehouse and standard reports
  • Owner of the Access General Ledger system
  • Provide cover for Financial Controller
  • Ad hoc projects

To be considered for this excellent role you should meet the following criteria:

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified with financials services experience
  • Ability to manage and motivate subordinates
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise a number of different tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly organised and methodical with an ability to see projects through to completion
  • Ability to liaise effectively with operational departments
  • MS Excel skills to pivot table and advanced formulae level
  • Knowledge of Word and Powerpoint
