Financial Accountant - 9 Month Contract
£48000 - 60000 (DEPENDANT ON QUALIFICATION LEVEL) + bonus + benefits
Epping, Essex (Hybrid - 3 days in office and 2 at home)

THE COMPANY
They are market leading, dynamic quoted global manufacturing and distribution business. They have grown strongly in recent years organically and by acquisition and have a presence in over 18 countries. The role is offered as a 9 month contract and is an internationally focussed role liaising with offices in USA, Far East, UK and Europe. You will sit within their European finance function and accurately prepare and support the financial accounting and finance function including statutory accounting, audit and group submission of the actuals , budget and forecast for the entities you will be responsible for. The role also provides support to the Finance Manager or Senior Accounting Manager with any ad-hoc projects.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Essential: Qualified or part qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA /CPA, AND,
  • Essential: Experience of working in a large company with many different companies, entities and divisions, AND,
  • Essential: Prior experience in working in a large, complex financial environment, managing stakeholders AND,
  • Essential: SAP or similar ERP knowledge essential i.e. Oracle AND,
  • Essential: Stong experience of financial and statutory and management accounting AND,
  • Essential: Ability to work in dynamic and busy environments
  • Excellent Excel skills

THE ROLE
The role includes the following:

  • The production of monthly management accounts, financial reports and other required reports within Company guidelines
  • Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations to be prepared and submitted timely into Blackline ensuring the balance sheet is clean and no aged / unresolved items are outstanding
  • Intercompany accounts fully reconciled with no aged balances and with any differences (if any) fully investigated
  • Support the preparation of the statutory accounts for the legal entities in charge if these are required
  • Asset accounting including depreciation run, capitalisation of assets in construction and open/close projects done on time
  • Assist the VAT manager and Tax Manager /Consultants to ensure full tax compliance
  • Support the external auditors during interim and year end audit, ensuring information is provided timely
  • Work with the internal audit department to ensure that any issue raised by them is actioned and resolved by due date
  • Managing the GRIR account and ensuring no aged balance is left unresolved
  • Responsible for preparation/review and timely submission of weekly cashflow forecast
  • Support the preparation and submission of the annual BS budget
  • Liaise with HR and Payroll provider to ensure that local payroll is processed timely and accurately
  • Managing stakeholder expectations
