THE COMPANY

They are an ambitious leisure company who have ambitions to become the leading country leisure club business in the UK. They have an exciting opportunity for an FP&A role to join the finance function.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Qualified Accountant
  • Experienced in FP&A
  • Experience within a UK multi-site leisure industry or hospitality or B2C industry is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Inquisitive outlook with a passion for identifying and supporting implementation of commercial opportunities
  • Willing to roll sleeves up and dig into the detail. Systems and processes are evolving but access to data is not always available at the touch of a button.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication ability to deal with non-financial operators

THE ROLE
You will support the CFO and Board and Executive team with the analysis and information required to make major operational, financial, and strategic decisions. Working closely with the CFO, will be able to guide you on the approach / stages for the budget process but would want you to be able to turn that into guidance docs, timetables. The role includes:

  • To co-ordinate strategic financial planning processes across the Group, working alongside the core finance team.
  • To deliver insightful, robust commercial analytics in a clear and simple to digest narrative, to tangibly drive commercial growth, as directed by the Exec and Board.
  • To create a database of important historical analytics that provide conclusive insight as to the viability of recent commercial decisions, helping guide future commercial strategy.
  • To support potential M&A activity in terms of commercial opportunity

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Implement the Group Capital plan and Budget processes, alongside the CFO.
  • Take data and turn it into a coherent story (with help from the CFO) that can be presented and absorbed by non-financial people. Identify large data and manipulate it.
  • Fulfil the delivery of high level 4+8 and bottom up 8+4 P&L forecasts.
  • Perform Post Investment Appraisals on key investments over the last 5 years, from acquisition to major capital investment and key commercial decisions, establishing a directory of key learnings to inform future commercial decision making.
  • Undertake tactical analytics to support and understand ongoing trading as directed by the CFO and Executive Board Directors.
  • Present outputs from all FPA activity in a clear, concise and easy to digest format (for non-finance individuals)
  • Establish strong working relationships with the Group's senior leadership teams to support their understanding of financial process, help enable them to deliver their commercial growth targets and gain their buy in to commercial initiatives.
