They are a leading private equity and alternatives investment firm operating in the UK and Europe. They have a number of investment funds which are supported by them to ensure they operate efficiently, effectively and seek to maximise returns. EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIRED
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Currently studying professional accounting qualifications (ACCA OR ACA OR CIMA) and also degree qualified 2.1 or higher;

  • Strong academic background (GCSEs - minimum B (grade 6) in Maths and English or equivalent and A-Levels - minimum ABB or equivalent);

  • Previous experience and technical knowledge of funds and knowledge of financial services legislation and regulations;

  • Knowledge FRS and IFRS and possibly US GAAP;

  • Experience using Excel, accounting software such as Sage or Xero and fund accounting or real estate accounting systems would be very desirable;

  • Proactive and self-motivated;

  • Strong communication skills, organised, flexible and keen to learn;

  • Analytical with high level of attention to detail;

  • Able to work independently, under pressure and to deadlines;

  • Team player with positive attitude;

THE ROLE
You will join a team primarily responsible for all aspects of day-to-day accounting for one or more assigned entity structures. You will work closely with more senior members of the team. Responsibilities include:

  • Reporting and transaction responsibility for fund vehicles and other investment vehicles;

  • Ownership of bookkeeping transactions and maintenance and of accounting records for multiple entities;

  • Prepare timely and accurate accounting output for subsequent review by the senior members of the team or client;

  • Preparing monthly/quarterly reconciliations of management accounts - promptly researching and correcting any variances;

  • Preparing interim and annual statutory accounts in line with appropriate accounting standards;

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly fund NAVs;

  • Reporting and transaction responsibility for fund vehicles and other investment vehicles;

  • Quarterly fund reporting to investors;

  • Assist with ad hoc management reporting;

  • Assist with the review of cash flow and production of forecasts;

  • Contribute towards reporting and compliance with all financial regulations;

  • Prepare drawdown and distribution calculation spreadsheets;
