Expanding Top 500 SE listed commercial property investment business offering excellent exposure to a wide variety of activities within the role.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:

THE ROLE
Reporting to the UK Financial Controller, this role offers a wide variety of activities and will join a small team of finance professionals. You will have a designated portfolio of property, management and investment companies which you will be directly responsible for. The role will include day-to-day interaction with property and asset managers to ensure that all finance matters are captured for the properties within the designated subsidiaries. There are also many ad hoc projects to get involved in and transactions to ensure the UK finance team delivers for the business and provides added value. The role includes:

  • Quarterly period close procedures including, but not limited to, journal postings, balance sheet reconciliations and detailed review of company trial balances (including variance analysis)
  • Production of various quarterly reports for designated subsidiaries including comprehensive variance analysis, development cost reports, management accounts, VAT returns and CIS returns (monthly)
  • Quarterly forecasting of rental income and administrative overheads
  • Analyse tenancy statistics and data for inclusion in the quarterly board reports
  • Preparation of the annual statutory accounts for designated subsidiaries in accordance with FRS101
  • Production of clear and accurate year-end audit files for designated subsidiaries and liaising with company auditors as required
  • Review and authorisation of purchase invoices for correct posting and validity for designated companies. Ensuring compliance with Company systems and internal controls.
  • Assisting the UK Financial Controller with quarterly forecasting of rental income and administrative overheads
  • Liaising with the Group tax department on tax matters specific to the designated subsidiaries (including aiding with annual corporation tax returns)
  • Maintaining the corporate accounting records (ensuring all recharges posted correctly and in a timely manner);
  • Consolidation (one annual consolidation) in accordance IFRS;
  • Group property management (one region);
  • Become a system super user for GL and ABR modules;
  • Preparation of quarterly compliance reports for lenders;
  • There are a variety of a-hoc projects currently including Internal Controls Project with Group Financial Controller; providing financial support to Development Team (budgeting and monthly reporting) and further development of the SMR budgeting process; system training - provide finance specific training (across the group) / write process documents on how to do tasks in the systems
  • Assist junior management accountants in their professional development
