THE COMPANY

They are a global US banking investment bank with offices throughout the globe offering services in M&A and strategic advice, capital structuring, capital markets and private funds advice. The bank is highly stable and is very highly regarded. They have a role available at AVP level reporting directly to the FD - EMEA and working a small London based finance function but working with finance colleagues in the USA. Europe and the Middle East as well as business managers and stakeholders. The role will involve business facing with stakeholders, and a mix of hands on management, financial , statutory and compliance reporting as well as ad hoc projects. You should be comfortable working in a fluid environment and able to respond to demands from many sources.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements

  • Experienced qualified accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with 3 to 7 years' experience in the finance function of a financial sector (investment bank /commercial bank /investment manager/ broker / wealth manager) or similar environment;
  • Strong track record of improving processes and driving forward change
  • Good systems experience including Excel skills i.e. look ups, pivot tables, graphs etc
  • Accustomed to meeting deadlines
  • Prior exposure within financial services such as an advisory investment bank, capital markets or wealth management company / group essential
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of data entry accuracy-conscientious & methodical
  • Ability to work under pressure and able to meet strict deadlines
  • Proactive and able to prioritise time/tasks
  • Good team player-flexible approach-assertive-forward thinking
  • Previously worked in an international environment
  • Workday ERP experience (desirable but not essential)

THE ROLE

The role is a wide ranging role, within a small finance team. Reporting to the Finance

Director - EMEA, the role includes the following:

  • Management Reporting:
    • Produce weekly dashboard
    • Prepare quarterly variance reporting with commentaries
    • Analysis of key non-compensation expenditure items i.e. Travel and Client Entertainment
    • Work with Finance Director to produce rolling forecasts for current financial year
    • Development of Management Information for the UK LLP and Europe entities
  • Statutory\Compliance Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit VAT Returns (monthly, quarterly and annually)
    • Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory reports
    • Prepare ICARA reporting and forecasts
    • Prepare annual P11D/PSA Returns and liaise with external advisers
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare statutory financial statements with conformity to accounting standards
    • Managing and coordinating annual audit with external auditors and US Finance colleagues
    • Prepare required journals for monthly close
  • Ad hoc requests from the Europe Finance Director, New York Finance, EMEA Business Management and the executive team of the EMEA business
