Accountant - Investment Manager

The Company
They are a leading active long only equity asset management houses with circa £20bn under management and over 100 employees across London, the Far East and USA.

The Role
This is a newly-created role offers significant scope for progression and also variety for breadth of experience. The role is to provide accounting, tax and regulatory assistance with the main focus on the tasks listed below:

  • FCA REGULATORY REPORTING - Assisting in preparation of the following quarterly reports credit risk templates and capital templates, asset Encumbrance templates, production of the FCA regulatory returns and input to GABRIEL and assisting in documentation and update of FCA reporting procedures and manuals; Will train what you do not know.
  • VAT - preparation of the VAT returns on quarterly basis, bookings of the VAT entries using in-house accounting software and reconciliation of the VAT control accounts and assisting in VAT related projects;
  • Corporation Tax - assisting in preparation of monthly corporation tax calculations and bookings via in-house accounting software and reconciliation of the Corporation Tax control accounts. Assisting in documentation and update of Corporation tax procedures and calculations and assisting in calculations of the Corporation Tax quarterly instalments due to be paid to HMRC
  • Month End/Quarter End - Provide assistance with month end/quarter end and year end tasks as directed
  • Transfer Pricing - Month End
  • Ad-hoc/ other - Assist in tax and regulatory projects as required

Who They Are Looking For
To be considered for this role you should meet the following criteria:

  • Recently qualified or finalist accountant (ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years' work experience
  • Have financial services experience - essential
  • Working knowledge of FCA regulatory returns - essential -
  • Understanding of partial exemptions calculations and reverse charge VAT rules - essential
  • Understanding of UK corporation tax
  • Attention to detail and good Excel skills are essential
  • Strong communication, team working and organisational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
