THE COMPANY
The Company is a prestigious, well established specialist lender who offer a wide range of lending options to its client. They are an award winning business and are rapidly expanding. You will join a small hardworking finance team in the London office as well as liaising with their overseas offices. The company has a diverse international culture and offer a collegiate and collaborative environment. They have a an excellent opportunity for a person with at least 3 years' experience of accounts payable and who has a hands on approach and enjoys working in accounts payable.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • At least 3 years' experience of accounts payable within a similar role;
  • Educated to A Level standard and AAT qualified /part qualified or qualified by experience
  • PC literate and an expert user of Microsoft Office (intermediate Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Looking to join a stable environment and looking for a long term role in accounts payable
  • Can take responsibility for accounts payable, able to work independently and confident and accomplished enough to use own initiative to solve problems if they arise
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
  • Be self-motivated, dedicated, driven, confident and a team player;
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines using your strong organisational skills.

THE ROLE
Main duties and responsibilities are focussed on managing and maintaining the accounts payable area and includes the following responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and verifying invoices in readiness for posting to the accounts system including clarification of any irregular or unusual supplier invoices
  • Ensure invoices are correctly coded against appropriate departmental codes within set deadlines
  • Analyse costs, process, analyse and apportion employee expenses and credit card expenditure correctly
  • Ensure supplier accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
  • Probe and solve any invoice issues, discrepancies and queries quickly and effectively
  • Prepare for processing outgoing payments Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording invoices and expenses
  • Preparing weekly and or fortnightly payment runs to ensure suppliers are paid on a timely basis in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Reconcile the purchase ledger with supplier statements to ensure that all invoices, expenses and payments are accounted for and accurately posted
  • Assist with month end close and perform and assist with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Run weekly suppler aged reports and Intercompany balances reports with analysis and comments
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required
