THE COMPANY
The company is a fast expanding and successful specialist lender providing short- and medium-term financing solutions to developers and investors within the UK real estate sector. They are specialists in more complex, higher leverage and development-led opportunities, lending between £10m and £50m on each scheme. The team covers all sectors of real estate, from residential through to commercial assets such as offices and hotels.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Strong academic background and either studying towards or keen to begin studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA). You must have at least 12 months left on your qualification to be considered. Study support will be provided.
  • Minimum of 12 months accounting experience
  • Ambitious and motivated - both individually and for the team and business as a
  • Able to manage their time effectively and work efficiently and independently to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a growing, dynamic and high-performing team
  • Strong IT skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint; knowledge of SAGE 200 / Peoplesoft an advantage
  • Strong aptitude for numbers
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Efficient, reliable and thorough
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Finance Director, the role will be primarily focused on assisting the Finance Director to assist across the financial aspects of business and securitisation structure. Responsibilities:
Support the production of monthly / quarterly management accounts and detailed reporting packages across the business and underlying investments, including:

  • Maintain and operate effective account payable process
  • Preparation of payment runs
  • Weekly bank postings and period end accruals
  • Weekly cash management, regular bank & cash reconciliations for corporate and development project entities
  • Maintain the internal models
  • Aid cash forecasting process
  • Provide assistance with the preparation of monthly drawdown information to lenders
  • Assist with responses to Investor queries
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements
  • Prepare supporting schedules to the financial statements
  • Liaise with the external auditors and handle audit queries
  • Preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns CIS Returns and other tax compliance
  • Maintenance of records and submitting filings with Companies House
  • In addition, there will be frequent ad-hoc projects and other duties as required.
