Business Manager - Wealth Management
£80,000 - £110,000 + bonus + benefits

The Company
They are a highly reputable leading international HNW wealth management and investment firm. They have a new role which is responsible for ensuring that the right infrastructure, resource and business systems and controls are in place, and are effective to deliver the growth strategy for the UK business at acceptable risk. The role will work closely with the senior management team to ensure the effective implementation of the business plan.

The Role
The role will work closely with the senior management team to ensure the effective implementation of the business plan. This role will also work closely with Group functions, the Client Services Manager and both the client services team and adviser/client teams. The role includes the following:

  • Business Standards

    • Own the Business Standards which define the core policies around how the firms does business
    • Develop, collate and analyse MI supporting those Business Standards with a particular focus on :
      • TCF
      • AML
      • Client experience
      • Advice risk
      • Operational accuracy and efficiency
    • Recommend solutions where MI indicates room for improvement or short fall against agreed standards
    • Ensure that documented policies and procedures are fit for purpose and are understood by the team
    • 1st point of contact for errors/complaints/breaches and other client issues. Review root cause of errors, co-ordinate reporting of Incidents and breaches, action changes in procedures and processes
  • Governance
    • Chair Operations meeting and ensure actions are progressed
    • Co-ordinate and member of UK Family Office & Wealth Planning management group
    • Co-ordinate production of Board papers and attend Board
  • Sales Support
    • Oversee sales process including referral tracking and pipeline management
    • Maintain promotions register and liaise with UK Risk & Compliance on approval of 'master' promotions
    • Oversee master slide library and marketing collateral, support production of new materials liaising with Group Marketing and Compliance as required
    • Co-ordinate production of website updates, Insights and client wide communications liaising with Group Marketing and Compliance as required
  • Training & Competence
    • Oversee the adviser T&C process including production of quarterly adviser scorecards and review meetings
    • Arrange and manage programme of central CPD to support ongoing competence of advisers
    • Manage the 'Planners Forum' and actions
  • Financial Control & MI
    • Produce monthly business updates and liaise with Group Finance on business performance metrics
    • Monitor team productivity (chargeable hours) and workflow / resourcing
    • Control fee process and manage debtors and billing /WIP review
    • Oversee direct costs of the business against budget
  • Change Management
    • Lead any change initiatives such as systems enhancements or changes driven by regulatory updates and service changes
    • Liaise with UK Risk & Compliance and Group Audit managing through any recommendations or changes in process as they arise
  • Outsourced Providers
    • Manage outsourced providers ensuring appropriate due diligence, service review and appropriate commercial terms
  • Group Policies & Procedures
    • Act as 1st point of contact for Group functions and co-ordinate implementation of Group policies and procedures e.g. headcount reporting, mentoring initiatives,
    • Act as business unit representative on Group wide initiatives such as business continuity planning, IT upgrades, budgeting, MIFID II
  • People
    • Liaise with HR on any team staff matters including recruitment

Who They Are Looking For

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Degree educated;
  • Experience of working in a similar role within a financial services or banking environment;
  • Solid understanding of risk management, compliance and anti-money laundering;
  • Experience of change management and business management;
  • Understanding of the HNW and UHNW market;
  • Confidently liaise with senior management across all divisions and jurisdictions of the group;
  • Totally client-focused to serve the business;
  • Exceptional organisational skills and strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills and inter-personal skills;
  • Ability to be proactive, prioritise and drive the business forward with the management team;
