THE COMPANY
They are an established private equity, venture capital and venture debt provider. They now have an interim role available. There is a genuine interest to hire on a permanent basis if the right candidate comes along.

KEY SKILLS

  • Degree level educated and qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) with at least 5 years post qualification experience
  • Ideally practical, hands-on exposure to some of the following but not necessarily all:
    • Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs) and VCT regulations
    • Other tax efficient products (EIS/BPR)
    • Listed companies
    • Private equity/venture debt funds
    • UK and US corporate and personal taxation
    • Regulatory environment, for example Companies Act reporting, UK Corporate Governance
  • Comfortable reporting to, and managing processes at, senior board level
  • Good mathematical, writing and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Hands-on attitude
  • Sociable and outgoing personality

THE ROLE
Reporting to Managing Partner/Founding Partner and managing the head of corporate accounting and fund controller and the ability to build the finance team as you deem appropriate if need be (including adding if necessary a financial analyst and also Head of Regulatory)

Responsibilities

  • UK, US and Group Reporting

    • Overall responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of statutory financial and management information and non-financial information presented to management, external bodies (where reasonably requested) and relevant regulatory authorities in both the UK and USA including group reporting.   • Third party funds and companies under advisory contracts
    • Overall responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of statutory financial and management information and non-financial information presented to Fund directors, management, external bodies and advisors (where reasonably requested) and relevant regulatory authorities (HMRC, FCA, National Storage Mechanism, Companies House).
    • Development of third party fund/company reporting
    • Oversight of investment allocations in accordance with pre-established co-investment agreements
    • Third party fundraisings and control over level of non-commission related expenses within pre-agreed budgets
  • Compliance and regulatory: including FCA regulatory oversight for LLP and associated companies and for third party funds and companies under advisory contracts ,oversight of fundraising process, non-FCA compliance and regulatory oversight for all and fund related activities
  • Monitoring of regulatory and general business issues through regulatory bodies, industry bodies and general best practice ensuring that the Firm and its funds are at the forefront of best practice
  • Investor relations information:
    • Overall responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of statutory financial and management information and non-financial information presented to internal managers, intermediaries and investors the websites, offer prospectuses and documents, published brochures and ad hoc requests
    • Quality, accuracy and timeliness of applications and related allotments for offers
  • Operating environment oversight
    • Information technology (currently via outsourced provider)
