Compliance & Financial Crime Administrator

THE COMPANY

They are a growing London operation of international banking group with global assets $20billion. The business comprises FX/MM, commercial and wholesale banking together with retail activities and property, commercial, HNW, institutional and sovereign lending.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • At least 2 years' relevant experience in a banking or compliance environment and
  • At least 3 years' experience in secretarial roles or similar corporate work
  • Strong interest in compliance, financial crime and administrative work
  • Ability to work effectively and supportively within a team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Sound minute taking
  • Highly organized and efficient, with administrative skills and the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Computer competence in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of FCA guidelines and principles
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and dependable

THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance you will provide administrative and secretarial support to both Compliance and Financial Crime. Good communication skills are a must as you will liaise with both the bank's management and staff and also external auditors as well as the Banks overseas Group compliance department. Assisting the Head of Compliance/MLRO by carrying out the following:

  • Helping with the administrative arrangements of both departments
  • Planning and coordinating Compliance and Financial Crime training
  • Arranging Inductions for new joiners
  • Maintaining training records for training and new joiners, and producing management information in relation to this area
  • Assisting with Gabriel reporting and any other regulatory reporting
  • Providing support with certain monitoring tasks across both Financial Crime and Compliance
  • Where required to provide support with producing MI on both Financial Crime and Compliance matters
  • Assisting in preparing for meetings of the Compliance and Financial Crime Committee or any other meeting that the Compliance Officer regularly attends
  • Maintaining various departmental logs, such as breaches logs and complaints logs
  • Maintaining other Compliance records as instructed from time to time
  • Assisting with on one-off compliance matters as directed by the Head of Compliance/MLRO
  • Maintenance of audit recommendations relating to financial crime, compliance, legal and data protection
  • Maintaining MLRO recommendations derived from the MLRO report
  • Oversight of all Departments' Policies and their review dates
  • Amending Policies/Procedures approval dates and uploading on the Intranet once formally approved by the relevant Committee
  • Recording all regulatory correspondence with the PRA, FCA and any other National Body
  • Managing Compliance, Financial Crime Committee invitations, preparing the meeting pack and writing up the meeting minutes
  • Taking minutes when requested to by the Head of Compliance/MLRO or in their absence at the request of the Deputy Head of Compliance or Deputy MLRO
  • Sending out meeting invitations on behalf of both departments
  • Maintaining Gifts/PA Dealing Registers
  • Coordinating MI on Conduct & Culture from various Department Heads on a quarterly basis
  • Attendee of the Compliance and Financial Crime Committee to take minutes.
