Finance Business Manager
£85,000 - £100,000 (Dependant On Experience) + Good Bonus + Benefits City

Who they are
They are a mid-size international investment bank, part of one of the largest banking groups in the world. They provide a wide range of services including sales and trading in fixed income and equity products, M&A services and also custody. In the last year they have invested heavily in new structures, systems and people as they go through a change management process within both their business and support. They have a highly collegiate environment and offer good career prospects. They now have a newly created "hands on" stand-alone role. The position reports directly to and supports the CFO in helping to financially manage the existing business by analysis of financial information including identifying the business drivers, preparation of presentations for to present to committees and internal forums, review and analysis of new product offerings and business proposals and also to understand technical accounting matters as well as capital matters and assess and review risk reward features.

The Role Content
Working closely with the CFO you will analyse, manage and present financial information to assist decision making whilst also supporting Finance strategic initiatives and projects. You will also drive information from management reporting team to enable you to analytically review information for various purposes including forecasting and capital forecasting. You will work on your own initiative in conjunction with the CFO and will not have any staff management responsibilities. The role is hands on, requires attention to detail and ownership as well as a commercial mind-set. The role is wide ranging and involves the following:

  • Produces comprehensive, targeted and insightful reports/presentations and briefing papers for the CFO in order to aid senior management decision-making.
  • Assess, analyse and interpret financial performance, commercial returns and capital deployment;
  • Review new product and business proposals;
  • Develop business cases using analysis for Finance business strategic initiatives including proposals for action or implementation as necessary and present findings to the CFO;
  • Conduct research and analyses information such as financial data on competitor performance trends;
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, coordinate the appraisal and bonus round process for the Finance Business;
  • Actively manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Who They Are Looking For
To be considered for this excellent role, you should be meet the following criteria:

  • A graduate (minimum 2:1 degree), highly numerate qualified Accountant with proven experience in investment banking and financial markets; and,
  • Used to dealing with complex information and experience within a Finance business strategy or business manager role; and,
  • Project management experience and able to meeting changing goals and needs as well as strong business awareness; and,
  • High degree of confidence with financial and numerical analysis and also knowledge and experience in Financial Accounting concepts and treatments; and,
  • Effective communication skills for writing reports/proposals and making presentations to present in front of an audience and also strong negotiation skills; and,
  • High energy, proactive individual able to work on own initiative and experience in working within a group and/or on own initiative; and,
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
