SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA (Essential)
  • Experience of both management and financial accounting (Essential)
  • Experience of people management (Essential)

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent communication skills and a personable personality as you will need to build working relationships with external stakeholders and members within the finance team. External stakeholders include public sector bodies, shareholders and lenders among others.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with intellect to both develop and challenge explanations and arguments
  • Dynamic and proactive and not afraid to implement process improvements

THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of project companies and supervising an accounts assistant assigned to each project

DUTIES

Management Accounting

  • To incorporate ledgers, cash book and loan schedules into ETBs and reconciliation of ETBs to a systems accounting package.
  • To maintain prepayments and accruals, alongside amortisation workings
  • To prepare management account reports
  • Oversight of VAT submissions and CIS returns
  • Oversee purchase invoices and other non-supply payments.
  • Supervising the maintenance of cash books and loan schedules

Financial Accounting

  • Prepare statutory accounts for year-end, alongside supporting documents for year-end audit.
  • Liaise with audit teams during audits and be the point of contact thereafter
  • Work with tax advisors to prepare corporation tax data

Reporting

  • Present finance reports to shareholders at quarterly project board meetings
  • Track and comply with project deliverables as per loan facility agreements
  • Prepare budgets and cash flow forecasts
  • Maintain financial and operating models

Company secretarial

  • Minute taking at project board meetings
  • Processing of companies house documents
