THE COMPANY

Well established investment management group with over $8bn under management. Their business focusses mainly on fixed income and FX markets. They have over 200 employees globally. They now have a new role reporting to the Head of Finance / Head of Fund Control for a driven and articulate individual who has passed their initial exams and is working towards gaining their full ACCA or CIMA qualification. The role has been created in their Finance/Fund Control Team in response to growth within the business and will be split between both teams which will0 allow the successful individual to undertake a wide variety of responsibilities

THE ROLE

Key responsibilities within the finance team:

  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations -including all relevant book-keeping such as accruals/prepayments
  • Maintain fixed asset register
  • Analysis of profit and loss accounts and variances (against prior month and forecast)
  • Assist in the preparation of London cashflow and perform bank reconciliations
  • Maintain sales ledger (raise invoices and ensure payment is received within agreed terms)
  • Assist with purchase ledger functions - such as credit cards and petty cash purchases
  • Prepare the monthly recharges to other BH entities
  • Review monthly employee expenses
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements
  • Ad hoc requests

Key responsibilities within the fund control team:

  • Prepare Fund P&L reconciliations between internal systems and the Fund NAV
  • Liaise with the Fund Administrator and other BH teams (incl. Treasury and Middle Office) in resolving breaks and understanding significant changes in reconciling items between internal systems at BH and the Funds' books and records at the Administrator
  • Assist the Funds' Administrator in maintaining the budget for each fund
  • Review of Funds' non-trading expense items and co-ordinate invoice signoffs
  • Monitor accruals and expenses in each Fund's NAV
  • Review and match a variety of Fund related data (P&L, Cash, Capital Activity) as part of reconciliations or record keeping activities.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

  • Part qualified ACCA or CIMA qualification and educated to a minimum A-level standard
  • Financial services experience preferred
  • Proficient in excel
  • Keen eye for detail, self-starter, thorough and pro-active
  • Team player - hands on and willing to get involved, good communication skills.
  • A focused individual who thrives in a challenging environment and enjoys taking on responsibility / ownership.
