Financial Crime Advisory - Assistant Manager
£65,000 + 15% Pension + bonus + bank benefits

THE COMPANY
They are the growing London operation of an international banking group who have just announced excellent half year results. They are also undergoing a change the bank process and upgrading all their risk, compliance, operations, and regulatory areas and processes. The business comprises FX/MM, commercial, retail and private banking as well as institutional and some sovereign lending. 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this role you should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience with client on boarding and remediation highly desirable
  • Basic understanding of UK regulatory framework and 1 year plus in financial crime related role. 
  • Ability to examine and evaluate regulatory rules & legislation
  • Graduate with relevant professional qualifications
    Ability to adapt to working in a multi-cultural environment
    Highly efficient, team player, with good attention to detail, accuracy
  • High standard performer that enjoys working in a dynamic and small team
  • Ability to work unsupervised, to tight deadlines and to withstand occasionally high pressure demands
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail and high level of numeracy and literacy
  • Good awareness of market developments
  • Good working knowledge of Windows suite

THE ROLE
This role is to assist the Financial Crime Department in its role as second line of defence by undertaking financial crime monitoring in accordance with the bank’s Financial Crime Monitoring & Assurance Framework. You must also have managerial capabilities to deputise for the MLRO, in their absence. The role includes the following:

  • Assist the MLRO with financial crime review audits
  • Maintain records of remediation requirements resulting from financial crime review audits and ensure action points are tracked with regards to delays/progress/completion
  • Assist MLRO with training regime including drafting training literature and holding training session
  • Draft/amend policies & procedures as required
  • Maintain training records and any other financial crime registers
  • Track regulatory & legislation updates/change and provide the Financial Crime Team with details
  • Assist MLRO with implementation or remediation work resulting from regulatory change
  • Create monthly newsletter to the Bank detailing financial crime updates
  • Clear sanctions alerts from Safewatch as escalated by the Operations team
  • Assist MLRO with escalated file reviews/openings/blocks
  • Act as Financial Crime representative as assigned by MLRO for project work in conjunction with the Business Change/Project Team.
  • Conduct client/transactional investigations as required
