Financial Manager - Real Estate Funds
£70000 + Bonus + Benefits London

They are a global real estate investment firm with over $10bn AUM managing 10 funds and over 75 discretionary mandates on behalf of institutional and real estate investors throughout their offices in the USA, Far East, London and Europe. THE ROLE
Working with the fund management team, internal departments and external service providers, you will contribute to maintaining what is widely recognized in the industry as the gold standard in real estate fund management businesses. The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Managing a team of qualified professional fund accountants and also 5 indirect reports;
  • Managing third party service providers, including oversight of fund and investment level accounting, tax reporting, management of audit and board reporting;
  • Review of pricing and NAV and sign off of monthly valuations; Sign off of quarterly investor reporting, including liaising with the investment team, investor services and external administrators; Responsible for the accurate calculation of fund, portfolio and individual asset performance;
  • Tax structuring and transaction support (financial and tax aspects of acquisitions, restructuring, and disposals), working closely with the investment & legal teams;
  • Carrying out financial and operational due diligence on operating partners/underlying managers;
  • On-going oversight of corporate and tax structures of existing investments;
  • Ensure high standards of governance and regulatory compliance;
  • Drive efficiency through process and systems development;

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
To be considered for the role you must meet the following criteria:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with at least five years' PQE and previous experience working in a fund management business essential;
  • Understanding of investor relations and legal/regulatory compliance;
  • Experience of managing a team essential;
  • Strong technical and accounting skills, (a knowledge of INREV beneficial);
  • Experience of instructing and monitoring service providers;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to demonstrate commercial acumen;
  • Good understanding of key performance calculations;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to relate well to other people at all levels, internally and externally;
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic;
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
