The Role

Working with the Financial Controller you will be involved in a wide range of hands on responsibilities including oversight and liaison with many different administrators, brokers and counterparties as well as the front office. The role is very interesting and challenging and will suit someone who is independent and wants to develop a role as well. The role includes the following:

Funds - Daily

  • Position reconciliations, resolve differences and advise front office of Corporate Action bookings.
  • Upload manual bookings to Prime Broker web sites
  • One Managed Account NAV (Shadow NAV) and access to Fund's Administrator web site
  • Update company's Base Capital for next day trading and send out e mail to all staff of all new cash flows (Subscriptions & Redemptions)
  • Daily Performance Reconciliations and resolve differences with Company's internal systems and liaising with front office


  • Liaise with Fund auditors, Directors & Administrators on Fund Audits
  • Review Financial Statements of Funds
  • Liaise with Administrators on NAV calculation process and sign off some of the NAV's
  • Liaise with Fund Legal advisors/Secretaries/Directors on resolutions, closures etc
  • Monitor closely Fund costs and TER of Funds for some of the Funds
  • Manage & make payments on some of the Funds via Prime Broker platform and bank accounts
  • Assist Head of Operations with Fund set up process concerning expenditure & NAV process
  • Assist with Client queries concerning new Funds
  • Joint signatory with other front & back office staff transfer funds (including Margin Calls, & resets)
  • Arrange margin calls for Prime Brokers for the Funds
  • Manage changes by Fund, for an example a change to its Fund Administrator


  • Manage expense claims and petty cash
  • Maintain Fixed Asset register and perform monthly reconciliations and depreciation calculations
  • Calculate rebates due to third party
  • Chasing unpaid debts by Funds
  • Deal with CSA forecasts, send invoices to executing brokers and approve statements
  • Solid Excel skills

  • Computer literate qualified or part qualified accountant
  • Fund accounting experience and attention to detail
  • Able to work in a small "hands on" environment
  • Flexibility to work on a diverse range of tasks
  • Good communication skills
