Private Equity Fund Accountant
£60,000 - £70,000 (dependant on experience) + bonus + benefits

THE COMPANY
An exciting opportunity to work in wide ranging role within the small Finance team of a specialist fast moving, dynamic specialist Private Equity fund. It has two funds whose objectives are to achieve a positive long term social, environmental and climate impact whilst making attractive returns for investors.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA / CA) or Qualified ACCA up to 3 years PQE;
  • Strong Academics including good class degree from a good university;
  • Desire to work in a dynamic Private Equity environment. No previous Private Equity experience needed but understanding of Fund Structures is essential (possibly gained inside a firm of accountants)
  • Comfortable working with IFRS and able to work at both the macro and micro level with an eye for detail is necessary.
  • Proactive attitude and a team player able to work in a hands on capacity in a varied role
  • Good Microsoft skills including Excel skills

THE ROLE
The role will be very broad and will give exposure to all aspects of a private equity business with overseas investments. There will also be the opportunity to take on full ownership over certain areas as experience is gained. The Finance team is integrated with the rest of the business, liaising daily with the deal and operational functions. There is also good exposure to senior management. Given the dynamic environment there will be numerous ad hoc projects, some large, some small, that you will be involved in. There would be regular involvement in the following processes:
Fund Reporting

  • Review of quarterly fund accounts prepared by the administrators
  • Year-end audit process
  • Cash forecasts and assess liquidity requirements
  • Review of drawdown notices
  • Understanding and recording changes in the fund structure
    Investment monitoring

Corporate Entities

  • Cash flow forecasts
  • Review of quarterly accounts
  • Year-end audit process
  • Various ad hoc

Tax

  • Review of corporate tax calculations and returns
  • Review of monthly, quarterly and annual VAT returns
  • Involvement in tax structuring

Transactions

  • Managing cash transfers within the group
  • Monitoring share issues in the group
  • Compiling minutes and share/ loan documentation
