The company has invested heavily in data, technology and analytics.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for this excellent opportunity you should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a fund controller role gained in-house at a PE fund manager
  • Qualified accountant with excellent academic background
  • Detailed understanding how a wide range of funds operate
  • Knowledge of private equity / venture capital products and services
  • Experience in execution of all fund operations
  • Good fund operational or financial background having worked in a PE fund management group or AIFM platform
  • Previous audit background and preferably with fund audit experience
  • Excellent written English and clear verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised, attention to detail and able to work to the highest standards
  • Hard working and ambitious
  • Team player and previous experience of managing junior members of staff
  • Proactive and a fast learner

THE ROLE
The role provides support covering a number of complex fund structures totalling plus various co-investment, founder and GP vehicles. Due to the continued growth of the business they are looking to recruit a Fund Controller to take on full ownership of all the day to day operational and control aspects of the fund management team reporting directly to the CFO of the fund management group. You will be required to take sole responsibility for running these structures efficiently and to best in class standards. This includes the management of third party fund administrators, internal investment teams and other service providers to collate and present information in a timely and accurate manner. You will be assisted by a small funds team who have a deep understanding of how the funds are managed and their obligations. This will be a challenging but rewarding role that would suit someone who is highly organised and can work to the highest standards. The role includes the following:

  • Acting as a fund controller for a variety of fund structures and taking full ownership of the reported numbers ensuring information provided is accurate.
  • Ensuring that all deadlines are met
  • Being a core contact point
  • Management and oversight of third party fund administrators
  • Reviewing and approving fund accounts and IRR calculations
  • Drafting fund budgets and cashflow management
  • Monitoring and ensuring execution of various fund or side letter obligations
  • Building out and maintaining robust procedures
  • Policy writing and identifying and implementing operational improvements
  • Investor reporting
  • Audit management
