THE COMPANY
They are a fast expanding, ambitious leading private equity, alternatives investment advisory, and consultancy firm operating in UK, Europe and the USA. They assist in the launch of new investment firms, new funds and new services and then support them to ensure they operate efficiently, effectively and enable them to maximise returns. Additionally, they provide a range of services from legal to regulation to investment advisory, performance analytics, investor relations and marketing, and fund administration services. The company has invested heavily in data, technology and analytics serving institutional investors and alternative assets fund managers, based primarily in UK, Europe and North America. Due to business expansion, they have a newly created role for a qualified accountant working within a professional and friendly finance team, currently 15. EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Graduate Qualified accountant from ANY industry or an accountancy firm
  • Understand and ability to prepare statutory accounts
  • Strong academics
  • Advanced Excel
  • Strong technical knowledge with IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills with keen attention to detail
  • Positive and flexible approach, able to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Financial Controller. The role is wide ranging and will provide exposure to internal senior stakeholders and management as well as international exposure.

  • Year end annual report and audit
    • Assist with the preparation of the annual report
    • Assist with the management of external audit
    • Preparation of supporting schedules for annual report, notes and audit deliverables
  • Statutory account preparation
    • Preparation annual statutory accounts under IFRS or UK GAAP
    • Over 50 statutory accounts to prepare and file in accordance with local requirements
    • 10 different jurisdictions (UK, US, Guernsey, Jersey, Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Luxemburg)
  • Corporate Tax provisioning and preparation/coordination of tax filings (no requirement to be a tax expert)
    • Coordinate with local tax accountants for tax provisioning
    • Coordinate with local tax accountants to file corporate tax returns on time
    • Over 50 statutory accounts to prepare and file in accordance with local requirements
    • Tax filings for 10 different jurisdictions (UK, US, Guernsey, Jersey, Netherlands, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Luxemburg)
    • US tax requirements - coordinate with local advisors
  • VAT, GST and Sales taxes
    • UK VAT calculation and filing on a quarterly basis timely
    • Irish VAT, Jersey GST, Canadian GST, Lux TVA and Guernsey and Netherland, coordinate with local tax advisors
  • Preparation and filing of Annual R&D tax claims
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts
    • Preparation of the month end management packs for group entities including EBT and SBP
    • Assist with the preparation of the group wide management pack
    • Analytical review of variance to prior year and budget
    • Adherence to month end timetable
  • Other ad-hoc tasks from time to time including acquisition integration assistance
