Group Finance Manager
£55,000 - £60,000 + bonus + benefits

THE COMPANY
The Company is a young dynamic, fast expanding real estate, hospitality and leisure company. This role reports to the Finance Director. The Group has a dynamic and supportive environment, and the finance team has a strong mandate to improve and implement change to support the growth of the Group. The Group is on a rapid growth curve and looking to create a strong and engaging finance culture by implementing step improvements to process and systems. The team is small and this is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience across a broad range of corporate and operational finance.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
To be considered for this you must have the following qualifications and experience:

  • The ideal candidate will be a qualified chartered accountant (ACA, CA, ICAS) with first time passes, strong academics either looking for a move into industry or their second role in industry
  • Strong technical background and skill set
  • Excellent communication skills - in all forms for each audience
  • Experience of working in several accounting systems including SAGE, XERO with strong Excel skills
  • Proven track record of delivering and implementing change with a passion for improvement
  • Broad and varied experiences in role
  • Confident manner and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Willingness to grow and expand their role as the Group grows
  • Able to positively demonstrate ability to work well within a team and autonomous environment
  • Working knowledge of Project Accounting/Management - deadline/ delivery focused
  • Attention to detail, well-developed analytical skills and willing to participate and support the finance team as well as wider company operations
  • Flexible and "Roll up the Sleeves" approach to support other areas of the finance function or business as and when required

THE ROLE
Reporting into the Finance Director, the role is critical to the successful reporting of monthly performance, quarterly performance and will oversee the preparation of the Group Annual Financial Statements for both UK and Jersey based entities. In addition to this there will be the opportunity to oversee the group tax position. One of the key objective of this role is to ensure the timely delivery of the audit process and the financial statements. In addition to develop existing processes and systems to improve the monthly and corporate reporting to deliver timely and insightful information to enable business decisions to be made. The key objectives of the role:

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated reporting for all stakeholders
  • Project funding monitoring, reporting and preparation of monthly claims and drawdowns from debt providers whether internal or external
  • Monitor and develop the group consolidated cashflows and equity management
  • Preparation of monthly compliance reporting in line with debt facilities and the completion of the management accounts
  • Oversee the annual audit process and the preparation of the Financial Statements in accordance with the agreed timetable for the specific legal entities within the development project
  • Completion of the annual Business Plan for relevant projects
  • Provision of information for the quarterly reporting packs for the Group Consolidation in accordance with the reporting timetables
  • Compilation, disclosure, and review with auditors of statutory accounts
  • Assisting with the setting up of new corporate entities for acquisitions, opening of new bank accounts, KYC information and relevant corporate/ tax documents
  • Pro-active project management, resolving risks and concerns through short interval management
  • Development of a continuous improvement culture.
  • Supporting and leading change programmes, helping to support the Finance Director and finance team to deliver a step change improvement in processes
  • Design and track KPIs relevant to the project and advise project processes
