KEY SKILLS

  • Qualified accountant (5+ years PQE) with ideally some or all of the following experience:
    • Venture Capital Trust (VCT) accounting and regulation experience
    • Exposure to other tax efficient products (EIS/BPR)
    • Listed company reporting
    • FCA regulatory reporting experience
    • Company secretarial experience
    • Other private equity/venture capital accounting/administration experience
  • Comfortable reporting to, and managing processes at, senior board level
  • Good mathematical, writing and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Sociable and outgoing personality

THE ROLE
We seek an exceptional fund professional who will report to the COO and who will have complete oversight of all aspects of fund related accounting and operations reporting internally to the COO and senior management and externally to independent fund directors and regulatory authorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete oversight of all accounting and operational functions for the Firm's funds
    • Management accounts and board papers
    • Published reports (full year, half year, interim management statements)
    • Fund performance
    • External commission payments to advisers
    • Tax and VCT regulatory filings
  • Compliance and regulatory oversight for all fund related activities including
    • UK Corporate Governance Code
    • UK Listing Rules
    • Other Companies Act requirements
    • FCA regulatory obligations (Key Information Documents, MiFID EMT, Prospectus Rules, money laundering)
    • Data Protection/GDPR
    • Compliance with internal fund and Firm processes and documentation
  • Formal sign-off of all regulatory announcements/ filings/ documents/ presentations/ external analyses released in relation to the Firm's funds to and for:
    • London Stock Exchange
    • Regulatory authorities
    • Fund auditors and advisers
    • Shareholders
    • Registrars
    • Financial advisers
    • Market commentators
    • Firm management
  • Primary lead during Board meetings/ AGM/ external shareholder and adviser events with external Directors and Firm staff
  • Coordination of regular fundraising documents and related share allotments
  • Monitoring of regulatory and general business issues through regulatory bodies (LSE, HMRC, FCA), industry bodies (BVCA, AIC, VCTA) and general best practice ensuring that the Firm and its funds are at the forefront of best practice
