Job purpose
To be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Human Resources department
Job details - duties
Developing and updating the HR policy of the branch and ensuring that it is keeping with the UK Employment legislation and Head Office HR Policy where applicable. Ensure that Staff Terms & Conditions as well as the Staff Handbook are also in compliance.
Process monthly payroll and ensure that staff receive their salary on time
Check and verify Overtime claims and submit for approval on a monthly basis
Calculate annual bonuses and salary increments
Prepare and submit End of Year Returns to HMRC annually
Complete monthly Salary Entry
Complete monthly Staff Cost Split
Benefits Administration with Company bens (i.e. Pension, Life Insurance, Group Income Protection & Private Medical Insurance)
Other Benefits Administrations such as Staff Loans, Flexi-hours & Mortgage Subsidy
Ensuring compliance with UK immigration laws and preventing illegal working systems
Recruitment - sourcing candidates, organising interviews, making offers of employment. Also assisting during Head Office recruitment campaigns and providing logistical support
Ensure that absences are recorded, Annual Leave applications are approved & Self Sickness Certificates are completed by staff that have been on sick leave. Check that Annual Leave, Time Off, Emergency Leave & Compassionate Leave applications and in keeping with the policy
Keep a record of training courses attended by staff
Health & Safety - ensuring that we are in compliance with the Health & Safety rules. Ensuring that risk and fire assessments are carried out on a timely basis and staff responsible are adequately trained.
Provide advice and guidance to all maternity leavers and returners in relation to their entitlements and leave arrangements.
Conduct new joiner HR inductions, providing guidance on policies and practices.
Create letters and new contracts where appropriate for salary increases, promotions, and changes to working hours
