Loans Underwriting Manager

The Company
They are a fast growing, secured asset backed lending specialist lender providing short-term loans in the commercial and unregulated residential sectors.

The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director and working closely with a small entrepreneurial team, the role includes the following

  • Steward approved loan deals through the legal documentation, valuation and draw-down process once they have been approved by the credit committee,
  • Summarise deals they receive from brokers for management consideration.
  • Liaise with borrowers during the course of their loans. and to proactively manage a pipeline of loan applications and to manage the expectations of our customers.
  • Assist the management by providing accurate information on deals, as they progress.
  • To provide a high level of customer service at all stages of a loan application.
  • Issue standard facility correspondence/documentation during the course of loans.
  • Escalation of issues to the management.
  • Pro-actively contribute to the improvement of processes and efficiency.

Who They Are Looking For
To be considered for this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience of loan documentation relating to any of the following Commercial Mortgages, Bridging Finance, Residential Mortgages or Secured Loans.
  • Experience of reviewing valuation reports.
  • Experience of dealing with borrowers.
  • At least 2 years' lending experience / exposure in an institution such as a major finance company specialist lender or bank.
  • Professional qualifications or studying towards one.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, efficient and organised.
  • A positive attitude with a hands on approach to work tasks.
