The Role

This role will be assisting the Regulatory Policy Manager with keeping abreast of regulatory policy developments, ensuring the organisations policies are kept up to date and aligned, and implementing regulatory policy change where necessary.

1.Contributing to the support and maintenance of the process for regulatory policy formulation

  1. Monitoring Regulatory Changes

 Learning to and assisting monitoring the EU regulatory landscape and other relevant overseas jurisdictions on key issues from time to time to identify relevant regulatory developments that will affect the Company, keeping the Regulatory Policy Manager and the Compliance Officer abreast of developments and communicating regulatory changes to the business (senior management summaries, impact analyses)

 Learning to and assisting monitoring FCA and relevant PRA/BoE publications to identify relevant regulatory developments (policy statements, consultation papers, speeches, guidance and discussion papers), keeping the Regulatory Policy Manager and the Compliance Officer abreast of developments and communicating regulatory changes to the business (senior management summaries, impact analyses)

 Learning to lead and overseeing implementation of regulatory policy change

3.Assisting the business's engagement with relevant policy makers and key trade associations during the development of legislation.

4.Liaising and working closely with the Compliance Implementation and Monitoring teams to ensure that they are aware of relevant regulatory changes so they can make the relevant changes to policies and procedures and to monitoring

5.Supporting the Business through Regulatory Change

 Assisting with the development and delivery of training

 Assisting the Regulatory Policy Manager support other business areas to develop and maintain systems, procedures and controls to ensure ongoing compliance

 Assisting the Regulatory Policy Manager to provide compliance policy advice and guidance to the business

What they are looking for

  • Passion for compliance - doing the right thing, client prioritisation
  • Demonstrated interest in policy development, legislation or regulation
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Commercial pragmatism - ability to take regulation, really test it and understand it in the context of a commercial setting
  • Working knowledge or experience with FCA regulation
  • Attention to detail and a commitment and the ability to work to a high level of accuracy, enjoy working with detail, researching facts
  • Able to revel in high volumes of work and deliver under pressure

Qualifications and experience

  • Educated to degree level
  • Been working in another sector, ideally professional services, for at least 2-3 years
