THE COMPANY

They are a growing London operation of international banking group with global assets $20billion. The business comprises FX/MM, commercial and wholesale banking together with retail activities. They now have a 6-12 month role available for an experienced regulatory project manager.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

To be considered for this very interesting and challenging role you should meet the following criteria:

  • Banking experience and Financial Services Regulation experience is essential
  • Minimum of 3 years delivering regulatory projects within Financial Services
  • Experience of leading projects with minimal support and supervision and end to end delivery experience.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, practices and project methodology such as Prince2 / PMP, APM, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma etc would be an advantage
  • Experience and / or knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery practices.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple, concurrent or competing projects
  • Highly competent in using planning tools and experienced in implementing and operating financial control frameworks
  • Experience of working successfully with senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of banking business / products / operations and IT system development life cycle

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Project and Programme Manager and building relationships with all bank departments and stakeholders in the UK and the Bank's Internal project team and wider Ops and Tech community the role manages the end to end delivery of the regulatory project portfolio and also helps the bank remain compliant with all applicable regulations and also support the bank in its transformation journey. This role leads and manages the execution of one or more key regulatory projects, covering: Retail Banking, Private Banking, Corporate banking, Finance, Compliance, Risk, and Operations. The role acts as a link to the overseas Head Office delivery function, enabling any cross-border deliveries to execute successfully. The role requires successful quality project mobilisation, adhering to established processes and control - including business case with strong understanding of delivery objectives and requirements. It will be necessary to produce high-quality project documentation, including plans. It will be key for you to build successful stakeholder engagement and demonstration of building a cohesive delivery team using existing resources. It will be critical to achieve successful delivery across time, cost, scope and value dimensions. Specifically projects will include:

  • S166 Risk Remediation;
  • Data Project;
  • RFR;
  • Regulatory Reporting;
  • AML Transaction monitoring.

In this role you will:

  • Drive the team to deliver regulatory projects using established methodologies and internal Bank processes;
  • Ensure projects remain aligned to regulatory objectives;
  • Mobilise projects and manage the project kick-off process;
  • Manage risk and dependencies;
  • Establish and lead project governance and make improvements to optimise governance;
  • Maintain regular project reporting across the full stakeholder group;
  • Drive and support business case development with key stakeholders;
  • Closely work with Technology to manage and prioritise workload in order to achieve on-time, in full, whilst running production efficiently;
  • Develop and assist in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Set clear project plan goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks;

  • Manage conflicting priorities and project activities within stakeholder group, taking the lead on decision making where required to ensure adherence to the project plan.
