Reporting Manager
£70,000 - £90,000 + bonus
Central London - hybrid role

THE COMPANY
The company is a young, fast growing venture capital fund manager investing in UK and European Software companies. They have grown fast having invested their first fund in twelve dynamic software companies and have raised their second fund. They have a small, highly collegiate team. As part of the firm's growth plans, they now have a new role reporting directly to the Operating Partner but working closely with the founding partners and the investment team.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for this role you should meet the following criteria:
* You are a qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience accountant, with experience of working successfully with senior management to support decision making and deliver insightful reporting
* Evidence of ability to build influence without authority, including having built and managed relationships with individuals in other businesses (eg customers or suppliers)
* A structured approach to the organisation of record keeping
* A self-starter, who can help to define and develop this new role within the firm
* Desire to be a key member of a small, high performing team
* Experience of improving processes and systems for reporting, including working with external systems providers

THE ROLE
The role reports and works with the Operating Partner and you will lead the processes around portfolio and regulatory reporting and ensure that the firm maintains complete and easily accessible records to support day to day operations. The firm has outsourced fund administration, including all bookkeeping, payments and financial accounting to a specialised fund administrator. Your role will focus on providing insightful management information to support decision making within the firm, and for the firm's investors, drawing upon information provided by the administrators and their portfolio companies. The role includes the following:

* Lead the process for collecting information from portfolio companies on a monthly and quarterly cycle. Build supportive and engaging relationships with portfolio company CFOs.
* Orchestrate the quarterly investor reporting process, with collaborative input from key members of the investment team who have lead responsibility for each portfolio company. You will and support the collation and final editing of the investor reports
* Provide insightful management information to support decision making within the firm.
* Develop/upgrade the firm's portfolio reporting systems for reporting on portfolio company performance
* Expand the scope of portfolio reporting over time to include ESG reporting. Work with portfolio company leadership to build engagement with this agenda
* Deliver regulatory reporting to FCA, trade associations and the like, as required over the annual cycle. This should only take a few hours a quarter.
* Maintain a compliance calendar.
* Ensure the integrity of record keeping, including filing of transaction documentation and the maintenance of compliance related records (but excluding financial and fund records which are maintained by the administrators)
* Assist with projects such as the establishment of new funds, bank accounts, etc
* Provide ad hoc analytical support to the investment teams, as your time permits as your primary focus will need to remain on supporting the various reporting cycles
