Senior Analyst - Finance Systems & MI
£70,000 - £100,000 + bonus + benefit

THE COMPANY
They are a highly reputable leading international HNW wealth management and investment firm. Their business is rapidly growing and despite the pandemic has been unaffected and goes from strength to strength. It is an exciting time to join the business. In order to support the group’s management decisions, this role is to focus on the design, development and maintenance of meaningful Management Information and the implementation of the systems for this purpose. You will be the “go-to” person and subject matter expert.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor level degree or equivalent with specialisation in Accounting, Statistics or Information Systems preferred
  • Implementation of and/or use of Anaplan (or equivalent e.g. Hyperion Planning or Adapted Planner) at a model builder level
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting (incl. cash flow)
  • Production of Management information for use by the CFO and business
  • Design of reports using Power BI (or equivalent) from a visualisation viewpoint. Don’t need to be a coder but know how Power BI works.
  • Microsoft Excel / PowerPoint – Advanced

Preferred but not essential

  • Knowledge of the use of SQL / MDX / DAX and/or “Data Wrangling” (R / SAS / Python etc.) would be an advantage (not compulsory)
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamix AX / NAV (or other multi-ccy ERP system) would be an advantage
  • +3 years’ experience in a similar role preferred. Possibly financial services or professional environment.
  • Excellent and fluent English and ability to deal with management and staff at all levels and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to train users of systems at all levels
  • Great attention to detail, alongside excellent organisational skills
  • Supports and works towards team goals, shares information

THE ROLE
This role is part of the Finance Systems and Management Information (MI) team, reporting to the Group Head of Finance Systems & MI. This role work closely with colleagues across the Finance team, including Financial Planning & Analysis (FPA), Finance Business Partners (FBPs), and the Systems and MI team, who specialise in the accounting processes and systems that already support the business, as well as with the Business Information team within the IT department.

  • Work with the Group Head of Systems and MI to support the development and maintenance of the Group’s MI strategy
  • Work closely with the rest of the Systems & MI team to take on board their understanding of the systems that support the Financial Accounting and Control environment and how this will impact the configuration of the systems that support the MI reporting and distribution environment
  • Build relationships with Financial Business Partners, Group Head of FP&A, the Head of Commercial Finance, and members of the Financial Control team to gather the reporting requirements and develop and maintain solutions in order to ensure their needs are met timeously.
  • Work closely with the Business Systems and BI development team in IT in the development and maintenance of the MI reporting tools (primarily the Anaplan, Power BI and other related applications), and to develop efficient solutions for the distribution of MI to stakeholders.
  • Build knowledge of the business and reporting tools, but also leverage off the experience and understanding of members of the team to ensure we are always at the forefront of technological advances and best practices with regards to the systems that support the MI and FP&A functions.
  • Manage the development pipeline for new and enhanced MI required by the FP&A team, Finance Business Partners, and all other stakeholders
    Ensure the quality and accuracy of the reporting that is being developed and help to design controls to guard against inaccurate reporting.
  • Training of end-users of reporting, but also members of staff that may need to train others.
