Senior Finance Manager

THE COMPANY
A global financial services group whose business encompasses investment banking, investment and wealth management has an opportunity for an experienced qualified accountant to work in a hands on role within their European Head office based in London. The role is a new role due to expansion. In the UK and Europe the company added over 40% in terms of employees and now number over 2000 employees globally. The role has strong international exposure and is responsible for reporting of both the UK and European entities and operations.

THE ROLE
The role is responsible for providing support to the Global Controller in all aspects of corporate and internal reporting to ensure adherence to timetables, financial integrity and completeness for all UK and European entities within the business. You will be a fully qualified Accountant with experience managing the financial reporting function, ideally
within a Financial Services business. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Coordinate all UK and Europe accounting
* Prepare and/or review and post month-end journals
* Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure their timely completion
* Prepare consolidated financial statements for UK and Europe
* Monitor changes in accounting standards, prepare technical accounting memos and advise on compliance/best practice
* Liaise with local consultants in various jurisdictions on accounting, tax and other matters
* Liaise with internal and external auditors
* Oversee quarterly VAT returns and other employer tax reporting compliance
* Ensure all Companies House and HMRC filings are made within deadline
* Assist with cashflow management
* Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of all group finance deliveries
* Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and are operating effectively and assist with developing new internal controls and processes, as the business continues to grow
* Develop strong working relationships with internal departments
* Active management & development of International accounting team
* Participate in other projects as requested by management
* Produce ad hoc analysis from time to time

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
* Bachelor's Degree (2:1 or above)
* Fully qualified ACCA, ACA, or similar with 7+ years PQE
* 3+ years supervisory experience, with a successful track record of developing team members
* Strong technical knowledge of IFRS
* Working knowledge of HMRC filings and requirements
* Highly proficient in MS Excel and Word; agile at learning new software applications
* NetSuite experience beneficial

* Excellent and demonstrable analytical and numerical skills
* Adaptable to different tasks and projects
* Ability to work independently and under pressure
