SENIOR FINANCIAL PLANNING ANALYST

£60,000 - £65,000 + Bonus + Benefits

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

To be considered it is essential you meet for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • A trained accountant (Qualified or Qualified by experience) with 4 -8 years of post-qualification experience or similar experience gained working in an accounting / finance role; ESSENTIAL
  • Previous experience gained within Financial Planning and Analysis function or Business Controller;
  • Excellent Excel and spreadsheet modelling skills ESSENTIAL
  • Financial model experience - conducting control checks, ensuring that data is correct and makes sense including making sure tabs add up ESSENTIAL
  • Highly independent and able to organise tasks with little daily supervision;
  • Very high level of diligence ESSENTIAL
  • Understanding of control mechanisms ESSENTIAL
  • High level of commercial/ common sense and awareness (very important) i.e. when they look at profit/loss - does it makes sense compared to the actuals. ESSENTIAL
  • Ability to work with large data sets and use various IT applications in order to structure, manage and create reports for various users; ESSENTIAL
  • Ability to both delve into details but also summarise key findings in a succinct and professional manner tailored to Senior Management and Board-level audience;
  • Appreciates and understands how operational measures translate into financial ones;

THE ROLE

Supporting the Finance Director, the role requires being able to work independently and initially focused on proactively improving month-end reporting processes, collating and managing large data sets, through to creating standardised reports to facilitate analysis. You will need to be able to communicate seamlessly with various teams and individuals across the business. You must be able to hit the ground running in order to establish the function and understand a highly complex and disparate structure with the support of the Finance Director and Group Finance. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set-up detailed analysis reports on revenues, staff, overheads and improve trade debtor reporting;
  • Collate, create and maintain data sets from various sources which will be the building blocks for analysis, reporting and budgeting;
  • Establish monthly KPI dashboard reporting and create quarterly Regional Reporting Packs;
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle in close collaboration with the business and the overseas Finance team;
  • Undertake analytics including a 3-year business plan and improve and maintain the client profitability model;
  • Maintain and support the implementation and analysis of KPIs (financial and non-financial) in collaboration with the Group Financial Analysis and Group Reporting teams;
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of key indicators and business activities in order to help drive performance improvement and drive strategic initiatives;
  • Support the understanding of the current transfer pricing policy through documenting the respective financial flows;
  • Prepare ad hoc analytics and reporting as required by the Finance Director and business leaders including the development of material for Senior Management.
