Principal duties and responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of product management including:

  • Product design - development of product portfolio to anticipate/respond to customer and market demand, industry trends and regulatory change
  • Pricing strategy - develop and implement pricing strategies for new and existing products aligned with and in support of customer strategies
  • Product performance - manage the performance of products, tracking and responding to performance trends
  • Develop appropriate MI to support performance management
  • End-to-end process management - working with all contributors to the value chain manage the underlying processes that support the product delivery
  • Manage suppliers relationships with all parties including third parties in line with the banks contract framework
  • Compliance of products - ensure at all times with the support of the compliance and legal teams that the products meet all regulatory standards and are within the internally set risk appetite Ensure appropriate engagement and sign-offs by governance stakeholders at all times
  • Work closely with the process improvement programme in the design and build of product related end -to-end processes, policies and procedures
  • Report regularly to the Management committee on the product performance and strategy
  • Incorporate feedback and input from customers and other departments on product strategy and find ways to expand product reach
  • Act as Project Sponsor and a member of Steering for projects
  • Issue management and resolution and completion of any root cause analysis to ensure likelihood of repetition is both understood and where possible reduced
  • To become a subject matter expert of scheme rules where applicable and any emerging payment scheme developments
  • Lead product initiatives to deliver a simple, integrated and responsive customer experience, including process improvements; identify customer pain points and work with key stakeholders to deliver product and service improvements

Background and experience necessary:

  • Extensive experience managing financial products and processes
  • Demonstrated track record of effectively working within a project
  • Understanding of product drivers and ability to balance risk and commercial drivers
  • In depth knowledge of financial products and related industry and regulatory developments
  • Have excellent communication skills and gravitas to operate credibly at a senior level
  • Collaborative leadership skills
  • Self motivated individual with a 'can do' attitude and ability to energise others
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail

Qualifications Required:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A-C or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 2 A Levels grade A-D or equivalent
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
