Due to the growth of their business, they are now seeking to hire a Senior Shipping specialist to join the team in Dubai. SKILLS AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED

  • Degree in Shipping/Logistics/Marine or related disciplines
  • Well versed in export trade regulations and customs clearance procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant documentation, including CP (GENCON and NYPE), Laytime Calculations, NOR, SOF, HIRE and Freight Statements, Arbitration, Legal case handling, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Voyage Charter Party Laytime Interpretation Rules 1993

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years proven experience in ship operations gained in a dry bulk commodities trading firm or a shipping company
  • Solid experience in both voyage and time charters for bulk cargo, handling vessels from handy to supramax / ultramax size.
  • Deep understanding of commodities markets in Mediterranean region & LatinAmerica and related processes

Skills

  • Fluent speaking and written English and Russian
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent team player
  • Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Willing to travel when required
  • Good IT skills, comprehensive use of Excel, Word, and Power Point

THE ROLE
The purpose of the role is:

  • Processing and issuance of voyage instructions and costing calculations
  • Checking on vessel schedule and itineraries
  • Handling bulk cargo and container shipments
  • Practical understanding of commercial operational issues and their legal and commercial implications

Your key responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to improve/ streamline logistics operations to increase efficiency, reduce error and hasten execution times
  • Assist Sales team finding the best rate and favourable CP
  • Handle vessel bookings, work closely with logistics and suppliers to ensure dispatch plan, payments schedules, credit risks, and cargo delivery
  • Coordinate trade related issues with traders
  • Handle full set of I/E, license, trade link declaration, and courier arrangement
  • Assist in handling L/C Bank documentations
  • Process Laytime calculation and disputes with charter party
  • Solve problems between shipping agency or ship-owners and cargo traders for all in house commodities traded by the group
  • Carry out other duties, and take on additional responsibilities, as may be agreed from time to time
