THE COMPANY
They are a fast growing and highly regarded, leading investment banking and institutional broking business providing premium services within UK market sectors to clients with offices both in London and New York. They now have a key new role within their growing finance department and is seen as critical to the management of the business.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONALITY TRAITS REQUIRED
In order to be considered for this excellent role you should be able to tick the following requirements:

  • Graduate qualified accountant (ACA qualified preferred) with 2-5 years post-qualified experience (gained within a bank, broker, asset manager) - Essential;
  • Previous experience in Treasury would be beneficial;
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge - Essential;
  • Understanding of the investment banking sector and the life cycle of an equity trade;
  • Experience of Treasury processes including Liquidity risk and cash flow forecasting, FX hedging (spot and swap trades), Revolving Credit Facilities, and CASS regulations beneficial - Essential;
  • Experience of producing accurate, incisive and well-presented financial information targeted to the right audience - Essential;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy - Essential;
  • Knowledge of banking systems and payment processes;
  • Ability to understand and fully leverage systems quickly and effectively;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships with all levels of management, staff and our external client base - Essential;
  • Track record for process improvement and use of initiative
  • Ability to use own initiative;
  • Ability to prioritise and plan work.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Treasury and joining a small finance team, this role has heavy interaction with senior management, Board members, heads of departments, other Finance members and the CFO. So the role requires strong and clear verbal and written communication skills. Main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Daily Liquidity and Cash flow reporting including monitoring the impact of trading and settlement activity
  • Cash flow forecasting and liquidity modelling
  • Managing the Revolving Credit Facility and interaction with lenders
  • Managing the settlement of Equity Capital Market transactions including arranging credit facilities with banks
  • Preparation of Daily Treasury Control Reports (including bank reconciliations and client money reconciliations)
  • Daily segregation of client money in compliance with CASS regulations
  • Instructing payments in the banking system (in relation to settlement of client trades)
  • Executing FX Spot and Swap trades
  • Posting journals in the ledgers in relation to Treasury transactions
  • Managing all aspects of internal controls for Treasury
  • Acting as the key point of contact with internal and external audit
  • Cover and deputise for the Head of Treasury when required
  • Work to identify risks and enhance control across the business
  • Ad hoc project work
