5 Tips For Nailing Your Next Job Interview 4

If you're looking for a new job, a recruiter can help ease the burden and open doors to new possibilities. Whether you seek them out, or they you, here are some tips on how to make the most of your experience:

  1. Have specific goals - make sure to know your niche, specialised skills, values, goals, etc. beforehand, this will make it easier for the recruiter to find the right fit for you.

  2. Find recruiters who specialise in your field - not every recruiter will be right for you, in terms of technicalities and geography. Make sure to find one that speciaises in your field in order to increase productivity and efficiency.

  3. Update your resume - a majority of recruiters will want to look at your resume prior to meeting, therefore, it is key to keep it current. Moreover, make sure it is user-friendly, meaning, readable, concise and marketable.

  4. Follow through - don't back out of commitments once you've agreed. This will be a waste of both yours, and the recruiters time, and you will miss out on future opportunities.

  5. Ask for constructive criticism - be open to receiving advice on ways to improve yourself, whether it be your resume, interview style, marketing tips, etc. Side note, if they don't offer it, ask for it!

  6. Thank you recruiter - A simple 'thank you' will go a long way. A nice Google or LinkedIn review can also help cement a good relationship!

Using a recruiter is a two-way street, but if you use these tips, it can be a smooth process!
