Interim Financial Reporting Manager -

Rate: £500-£525/day

London - Hybrid

Cameron Kennedy, in partnership with a London Borough, is seeking an interim professional for a Financial Reporting Manager role.

Role Overview: This position plays a crucial role in providing strategic financial advice and support to the day-to-day operations of the council. As the Interim Financial Reporting & Control Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial records and accounts for the London borough, overseeing the annual closing process, and providing leadership to systems and control functions within the Shared Finance Service. Additionally, you will lead the production of statutory accounts in line with regulatory guidance and timescales.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Interpreting and applying policies to meet specific local needs.
  • Managing and supervising staff to ensure operational plans and activities are effectively delivered.
  • Providing assurance that the council's operations comply with regulatory standards.
  • Leading small projects and implementing changes within agreed cost, time, and quality standards.
  • Managing service level budgets and resources to support the delivery of intended outcomes and demonstrate value for money.
  • Producing statutory accounts in line with regulatory guidance and timescales.

Requirements:

  • CCAB (or equivalent) qualified with a solid background in financial accounting - Essential
  • Proven experience in closing financial accounts for local authorities and liaising with internal and external auditors - Highly Desirable
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting requirements for local authorities.
  • Ability to lead teams and drive innovation to achieve better outcomes.
