SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • MUST HAVE Private Client Experience
  • MUST HAVE 3 years minimum Operations experience
  • MUST HAVE Onboarding/ Account Opening knowledge
  • IMC or CISI is desirable.

THE ROLE

Duties and Responsibilities

Initially, the successful applicant will play a significant part in further developing the operational infrastructure of the private client business unit. There will therefore be a number of ongoing projects to manage. The role will include the following daily tasks:

To manage the operational aspects of the client account opening process covering:

To work on the whole account opening process from the production of the physical account opening documents to the completion of the client on-boarding.

To ensure the correct set up of client data in the systems to allow data to flow where appropriate.

To work with external custodians to ensure the custody accounts are correctly established.

To ensure that incoming client funds and assets are correctly instructed and recorded in the platform.

To ensure that processes and controls are in place for true segregation, offshore rules regarding UK assets and investor accounts.

To review and maintain procedures for the Operations function to ensure they are correct and up to date

Oversight of daily reconciliation process:

To ensure all asset static including prices are correctly set-up at the custodian and internal systems

To ensure all cash and stock breaks are investigated daily between the custodian and the street and resolved in a timely manner

Oversight of timely resolution of all outstanding cash and stock break between the 2 internal systems (SWP and APX) by the 3rd party vendor

To assist with the operational aspects of implementation and integration of a client reporting function:

oversight of the production of all client output in a timely manner in accordance with internal guidelines

review the accuracy of all output produced for clients

assurance that all regulatory required information is reported to clients

production of all portfolio and asset performance figures for period portfolio valuations

verification of reports and performance information

Oversight of all tax reporting in relation to the private client business, including primary contact for HMRC, and also production of client tax reports (UK and US)

Portfolio monitoring and operational risk control:

To ensure that daily feeds from custodians are reviewed and updates made to the platform where appropriate

To investigate and resolve any trade processing issues that may arise including failing trades

To ensure that any dividends, interest payments or corporate actions are correctly recorded and processed in the platform

To monitor and review the incoming price and rate feeds

Background & experience:

The successful candidate should be capable of further developing the operational procedures and practices within a growing business

This is very much a "hands on" role within a small team and the successful candidate will have to be flexible and be able to handle a varied role which will involve assisting with a number of different processes

The successful candidate will have:

A solid background in private client operations gained from within the Investment Management arena or similar environment

Experience in managing external service provider relationships such as onshore and offshore custodians, ISA administrators and tax reporting providers

Articulate, self-motivated, a quick learner and team player

Great attention to detail

A broad understanding across multi assets such as fixed income, equity, collective investment schemes and different investment schemes such as ISAs and SIPPs. Can also demonstrate experience in dealing platforms, reconciliations, client valuations, data integrity, corporate actions, transitions, client payments, and post trade compliance
