Assistant Accountant
£35,000 - £38,000 + Bonus + Benefits +Study Package
Central London (Hybrid 4 days in office)

THE COMPANY
They are a highly successful fast expanding private investment firm investing across Europe, UK and USA VIA equity and debt structures in real estate and leisure businesses. They have over £4 billion assets under management. They have a new role offering career development and opportunity. Previous financial services experience is not necessary and applicants can come from any industry.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • MUST HAVE: Strong academic background and either studying towards with at least 18 months to completion or keen to begin studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA). Could already be AAT qualified.
  • MUST HAVE: Minimum of 12 months professional accounting experience (possibly already part qualified)
  • MUST HAVE: Ambitious and motivated - both individually and for the team and business as a whole
  • MUST HAVE: Ability to work effectively as part of a growing, dynamic and highperforming team
  • Strong IT skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint; knowledge of SAGE 200 is an advantage
  • MUST HAVE: Strong aptitude for numbers and good double entry accounting skills
  • MUST HAVE: Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organisational and time management skills
  • MUST HAVE: Efficient, reliable and thorough
  • MUST HAVE: Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Flexible attitude to provide support to new projects as and when required


THE ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller, they are looking for someone to join the finance team to support the continued growth of the business. The role will touch upon areas of the group's activities including development projects as well an operational property asset. There will be opportunity to also be involved with managed and advised investment funds and the groups regulated investment adviser. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing business in a diverse role. Key Responsibilities

  • Support the production of monthly / quarterly management accounts and detailed reporting packages across the business and underlying investments, including:
  • Purchase ledger management for development projects
  • Preparation of payment runs for various entities.
  • Weekly bank postings and period end accruals
  • Weekly cash management, regular bank & cash reconciliations for corporate and development project entities
  • Aid cash forecasting process
  • Provide assistance with the preparation of monthly draw down information to lenders for development projects.
  • Assist with responses to JV partner queries.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements.
  • Prepare supporting schedules to the financial statements.
  • Liaise with the external auditors and handle audit queries.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns CIS returns and tax compliance.
  • Maintenance of records and submitting filings with Companies House
  • There will be frequent ad-hoc projects.
