Currently with 6 funds as well as nearly $1bn invested, this is a career opportunity for a newly / recently qualified accountant to be mentored by and assist an experienced high quality Fund Controller. The company has invested heavily in data, technology and analytics. The role offers excellent exposure to a fast growing business.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

To be considered for this excellent opportunity you should meet the following requirements:

  • ACA/CA/ACCA newly or recently qualified accountant with excellent academic background
  • No more than 2 years post qualified experience gained in a firm of accountants or in house within the alternative investment industry.
  • A strong interest to gain an understanding of how a wide range of funds operate;
  • Either a knowledge of private equity / venture capital products and services or a strong desire to learn
  • Previous audit background is desirable
  • Excellent written English and clear verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised, attention to detail and able to work to the highest standards
  • Hard working and ambitious
  • Proactive and a fast learner

THE ROLE

The role provides support covering 6 complex fund structures totalling circa $1.3bn AUM plus various co-investment, founder and GP vehicles. Due to the continued growth of the business they are looking to recruit a Junior Fund Controller to assist the Senior Fund Controller with the day to day operational and control aspects of the fund management team. You will assist in running these structures efficiently and to best in class standards. This includes the management of third party fund administrators, internal investment teams and other service providers to collate and present information in a timely and accurate manner. You will be assisted by a small funds team who have a deep understanding of how the funds are managed and their obligations. This will be a challenging but rewarding role that would suit someone who is highly organised and can work to the highest standards. The role includes the following:

  • Assisting in oversight for a variety of fund structures and taking full ownership of the reported numbers ensuring information provided is accurate.
  • Ensuring that all deadlines are met
  • Being a contact point
  • Management and oversight of third party fund administrators
  • Reviewing and approving fund accounts and IRR calculations
  • Drafting fund budgets and cashflow management
  • Monitoring and ensuring execution of various fund or side letter obligations
  • Building out and maintaining robust procedures
  • Assisting in policy writing and identifying and implementing operational improvements
  • Investor reporting
  • Audit management
