Fund Financial Controller

The Role
The role is to manage and control the financial reporting function for the European Real Estate Business so that the business is provided with relevant, accurate and timely financial information for real estate projects and real estate funds

  • Responsible for the preparation and presentation of SPV and Fund quarterly financial reports
  • Group consolidations and annual financial statements
  • Responsible for supervising the TPA in the preparation of project and Fund quarterly financial information and day to day processes
  • Responsible for providing reporting information and analysis to Senior management, Executive Committee, Asset managers and members of the finance team;
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate financial reporting standards are applied in the preparation of financial reports;
  • Responsible for maintaining the chart of accounts for the business and oversight of Horizon general ledgers and PM10 reporting database (or Investran) including design, implementation and monitoring of Horizon processes and controls;
  • Responsible for supervising third party property managers property accounting services;
  • Responsible for overseeing the preparation of all regulatory reporting returns including: AIFMD, Statutory Accounts, VAT, CIS, other tax and annual Capital Allowance returns;
  • Responsible for the management of year-end audit process
  • Liaising with auditors as well as TPAs who are preparing the accounts;
  • Responsible for monitoring the financial controls and procedures for the real estate business
  • Implementing remedial actions to correct weakness and following up on errors
  • Implementation of standardised financial processes to maximise efficiencies of the fund accounting
  • Collaborate with other teams' members to share ideas
  • Working with the team and business for effective implementation of ad hoc projects and research technical accounting issues with liaison with central Financial Controller;

Who They Are Looking For
To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have proven Financial Control experience within Real Estate fund accounting
  • Property accounting and service charge knowledge
  • Post qualification experience at least 4 years (ACA preferable)
  • Able to demonstrate experience of implementation of efficiencies identified within operational/financial processes
  • Strong project and relationship management skills and experience managing a third party relationship with ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team and being able to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Degree qualified in accounting, finance or a related field an advantage
  • Commercially aware / professional
  • Horizon, Yardi or similar Property Management systems experience preferable
  • Experience dealing with audit teams and managing an audit process
