Head of Financial Control

Reporting to the CFO, the role is to manage the Financial control function including the production of management
and financial accounts; records and associated controls; Business Partnering; VAT and Tax; and ad hoc projects.
Your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Manage the Financial Control function;
  • Manage the Financial Control team to ensure that they are appropriately motivated, developed and trained;
  • Oversee the preparation of the company's financial accounts to ensure these are presented accurately and on time;
  • Report on financial insights and performance against budget;
  • Oversee the year-end audit and production of the Annual Report and Pillar 3 documents;
  • Develop and maintain all necessary financial systems, policies and procedures in the(excluding customer facing divisions);
  • Financial Control function to ensure effective and efficient financial management
  • Further develop management information to increase clarity, insights, efficiency and speed of preparation;
  • Drive improvement and efficiencies to support the fast growing business across the Bank through Business Partnering;
  • Partner with Head of Financial Analytics to present management with a coherent and risks to that performance; comprehensive view of actual and forecast business performance and of emerging trends and
  • Corporate Tax and VAT Reporting;
  • Review of Accounting Policy to ensure it is in line with changes to accounting standards;
  • Liaise with external auditors and advisors;
  • Attend the Audit Committee and other committees;
  • Ad-hoc special projects;


  • Qualified accountant with minimum 5 years PQE and banking industry experience;
  • Senior level accountancy experience as well as strong understanding of financial control;
  • Strategic thinking skills as well as proactive attitude
  • Competent IT (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and presentation skills
  • Understanding of SQL and report writing packages to a high level would be beneficial. A strong
  • interest in Business intelligence would be most welcome.
