Who they are
They are an expanding retail banking group and this role is within the expanding London Branch of this international organisation.

The Role
Reporting to the Financial Control Manager, the role is to help maintain an accurate and timely regulatory reporting function, analysing the detailed compliance requirements as necessary. Regulatory agencies comprise the Financial Conduct Authority, the Bank of England and the overseas based regulatory authority. Specifically your role covers the following:

  • To assume complete responsibility for certain Bank of England & PRA reporting and also assume responsibility for the overseas regulatory authority and FCA returns. To assist in preparation of other financial and regulatory reports on an accurate and timely basis.
  • To maintain daily monitoring of regulatory compliance for liquidity using our external vendor system supplemented by manual procedures as necessary.
  • To maintain quality control over the reporting base, including that of Paris branch.
  • To keep up to date with changes in Central Bank requirements, and to analyse these changes and their implications.
  • To analyse new activities and products for their regulatory implications and provide one-off analysis from time to time.
  • To assist with reporting system enhancements and development, as opportunity arises.
  • To work closely with accounting colleagues, providing accounts staff with external vendor system derived data and analyses periodically, and deputising for colleagues when the need arises
  • Maintaining parameters on local systems for submission to Group Finance and the Central Bank.
  • Any other ad hoc duties related to Regulatory reporting.

Who They Are Looking For
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Ideally minimum 3 years' experience in a regulatory reporting role within an SME banking environment
- Knowledge of the UK regulatory framework including requirements in the FCA & PRA Handbook; and,
- Intermediate user of MS Access, Word and Powerpoint and strong Excel skills;
- A track record of proactivity in constantly looking for ways to improve processes and knowledge of the mechanism necessary to successfully implement change;
- An ambitious, professional individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work independently and also an integral part of the team.
- Should possess an excellent computing and communication skills and also strong accounting background supplemented with practical experience.
